February is a lovely time to indulge in a vacation (or “staycation” if you’re from the San Diego area)!  The sunny 70-degree weather allows you to enjoy the expansive beaches, tranquil paths of the bay, or a ride on the Giant Dipper rollercoaster at Belmont Park.  One of the charms of Mission Bay is that once you arrive at your vacation spot, you can park your car and not touch it until it’s time to leave.  There are plenty of restaurants and activities that are either a short walk or bike ride away.  Talk about convenient!  California living, without the commuting.

There’s always something exciting happening in San Diego!  Located in the center of it all, Mission Bay offers endless fun for kids and adults of all ages.  Start planning your warm-winter holiday now and check out what Mission BayVacation Rentals, has to offer.

Below are some fun activities going on now:

Museum Month
February is Macy’s MuseumMonth, where 45 San Diego museums will be half priced.  Spend a day exploring the many museums of historic Balboa Park for a fraction of the price.  All you need to do is pop into one of Macy’s 14 locations in San Diego, Temecula or Imperial Valley and request the museums pass.  Each pass is good for up to four people during the entire month of February.

Mardi Gras
On February 17th, the largest West Coast celebration of Mardi Gras kicks off in the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego.  Five stages will host local as well as international musicians and DJs performing, such as the rapper formerly known as Snoop Dog.  The fun starts at 5:00 PM and goes to the witching hour (or midnight), with the classic Mardi Gras Parade rolling down the street at 9:00PM.  General admission tickets start at $30 and VIP packages start at $80.
